A few of our favourite things …

………”.coming across the Solent on the Isle of Wight ferry during Cowes week - I`ve never seen so many Sails…… don`t know how they miss each other  ! “

………” being squeezed by the crowds at the last  ` Love Albert  Road` day … a fantastic  carnival atmosphere …. so much going on ……  everyone out for a good time !”

………” I love the gr8 south run….. came 14,007th this year … but there were 24,000 starters  !

……….” take a long walk from Eastney  beach at one end of the seafront down to Gunwharf Quays at the other end  ….it’s a good 90 minute walk in the healthy sea air !  Lots of sights on the way including Canoe Lake – great for crabbing or stopping for an ice cream and  the mini golf course with a cup of tea and  gorgeous cakes at the Café “

………” My favourite walk is Old Winchester Hill National Nature Reserve….The views from the top of the  hill are incredible and breathtaking – most of Hampshire can be seen plus The Solent and the Isle of Wight “

………” had local fish and chips, sat on top of the Hot Walls in Old Portsmouth recently ….. watching the marine world go by !...”.

………”within a few minutes walk from anywhere in Southsea you find yourself on a lovely beach – no matter what the weather is doing – I always find it  a place of escape…. It can be windy with big crashing waves, or summertime blue skies with little boats, or first thing in the morning - so still like a millpond.  Love it “

………” Watching the fireworks go off in the whole of Portsmouth from the top of Portsdown Hill on bonfire night, or watching the sun go down over the Isle of Wight “

……..”. earlier in the year we went to the Food Festival in  Palmerston Rd ….. there were so many different stalls all selling incredible things …. We ate so much we were completely stuffed by the end of the day ! “

……….” I love breakfast/brunch at the Tenth Hole Café followed by a walk along the seafront/through the rose gardens. The food is always good, although they are sometimes  busy there is always somewhere to sit and blankets available if it’s a bit chilly outside! They have such a beautiful selection of cakes and deserts and a homely feel!”

………”“My favourite night out in Portsmouth was New Year’s Eve at the Kitsch n’ Dor in Southsea – wonderful French food with a cheese board that has to be seen to be believed.  Partied the night away to live Jazz and lots of bubbles!!
